Monster Island is the moniker of The Asylum’s 2019 mockbuster. It was ironically published around the time of Godzilla King of the Monsters. Monster Island is a story about Monster Island. It is where a monster can sometimes be found.


Because this film is about an asylum, the budget was comparable to a large child's meal. It makes economic use of its resources by focusing (Monster Island (2019) Decker Shado) on a few human characters and keeping the big names of the film in one location to allow them to shoot all their scenes in a single lunch break. However, lest we forget that this is a work in the kaiju genre, and well... that is sort of how they go, so maybe The Asylum won't do such an awful job with it?
